02/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) has granted a €29 million loan to Derba Midroc Cement Company (DMC) in Ethiopia. The loan to this private sector company will help build and operate a 2.1 million tonne cement factory, an adjacent limestone quarry and related infrastructure in the area. The EIB says in a press release that the project will contribute to Ethiopia's economic growth and reducing unemployment in the country. (O.L.)
