Green light to investment aid to set up LCD plant for Samsung in Slovakia

Brussels, 02/07/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 2 July, the Commission authorised aid in the region of €65 million, which the Slovakian authorities intend to grant to Samsung Electronics LCD Slovakia s.r.o., a subsidiary of the Korean group Samsung. This aid will be used to set up a new plant to assemble LCD (liquid crystal display) TV modules in Voderady, Slovakia.
