03/06/2008 (Agence Europe) - Returning to her idea about using VAT surpluses generated by the hike in oil prices to boost household spending power for the least well-off (see Europe 9673), French finance minister Christine Lagarde said on Tuesday 3 June 2008 that one could not deal with the current explosion of oil prices simply through economic means.
