Brussels, 28/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - The Connecting Public Administrations Eastwards initiative will hold its second meeting on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 May in Brussels. This event is being jointly organised by the Veneto region, the Veneto Chamber of Commerce and the Puglia region, the European Parliament's foreign affairs committee and the Italian ministry of foreign affairs. A Veneto region press release explained that the seminar will focus on international cooperation between public institutions and the benefits they can obtain from European programmes and instruments provided by the World Bank, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Participants will come from Albania, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Italy, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Spain. As well as the representatives from the financial institutions mentioned above, participants will also include Ioan Mircea Pascu (PES, Romania), Vice President of the EP foreign affairs committee and Vittorio Prodi (ALDE, Italy), Vice President of the EP temporary committee on climate change.
