26/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 23 May, the Rural Development Committee (which consists of representatives of the 27 member states) gave its backing to the rural development programmes for 2007-2013 of three Spanish regions: Madrid €69.57 million from the European Agricultural fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) over the period; the Balearic Islands (€44.87 million from European funds); and the Canary Islands (€153.28 million from the EAFDR).
