26/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - As anticipated (see EUROPE 9665), on Monday the Council, without discussion, approved the negotiating mandate which will allow the European Commission to begin talks with Russia on a new enhanced partnership agreement to replace the current partnership and cooperation agreement (PCA). Negotiations will be officially opened at the EU-Russia summit in Siberia on 26-27 June. (H.B.)
