Brussels, 15/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - GDP grew by 0.7% in both the euro area and the EU27 during the first quarter of 2008, compared with the previous quarter. These estimates were published by Eurostat, on Thursday 15 May and confirm the relatively good health of the European economy, largely helped by Germany's surprising performances (1.5% in growth in the first quarter, as opposed to 0.3% in the previous quarter).
