15/05/2008 (Agence Europe) - On the initiative of its leader, French Communist Francis Wurtz, the European United Left/Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) group on the European Parliament is holding a conference “What we expect today of the Left in Europe”. Among those speaking will be the former Spanish President of the European Parliament Josep Borrell, MEPs Caroline Lucas (Greens, UK), Véronique de Keyser (Belgian Socialist) and Luis Morgantini (Independent MEP from the PRC list in Italy), Ricardo Petrella, Secretary General of the International Committee for the world water contract, Leila Shahid, Palestine Delegate General to the EU, Jean-Pierre Dubois, President of the League for Human Rights and Martinique writer Edourd Glissant.
