18/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 17 December, the EU Council of Ministers adopted the new regulation on the definition, presentation and labelling of spirit drinks. Poland and Sweden voted against the text as, they say, there is too broad a definition of the ingredients that go to make up vodka (EUROPE 9449). Lithuania abstained. The new regulation will take effect on the seventh day after publication in the European Union Official Journal. (L.C.)
