18/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 18 December, the president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, welcomed the Ukrainian parliament's appointment of Yulia Timochenko as the new prime minister of Ukraine. The Commission will continue to support the political, economic and structural reforms in Ukraine and will work closely with the new Ukrainian government with a view to consolidating EU-Ukraine relations, the Commission spokesman said on Tuesday.
