28/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 27 November 2007, the European Commission approved plans for the purchase of the Franco-American company Business Objects, an independent supplier of business analytics software, by the German SAP AG, a world leader in enterprise application software solutions. The Commission concluded that there was no risk of obstacle to free competition, because the cumulative market share of the parties would be modest in the sector and, furthermore, SAP's middleware product (SAP Netweaver) is an open platform that allows the integration of multiple software, including software produced by the rivals of Business Objects.
