EP tightens up areas of bluefin tuna recovery plan

Strasbourg, 15/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 15 November 2007, the European Commission slightly strengthened the bluefin tuna recovery measures planned for fish stocks in the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean. Adopting a report by Iles Braghetto (EPP-ED, Italy) by 480 to 41 with 17 abstentions, the European Parliament made some amendments to the initial draft, not all of which were accepted by EU Fisheries Commissioner Joe Borg.
