07/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 6 November, the European Commission granted clearance to the acquisition of sole control of Domestic & General Group PLC of the UK (the firm provides breakdown protection insurance on domestic appliances, pet health insurance and call centre, mailing and other services to businesses) by the American investor Advent International Corporation. The European Commission also gave the green light to the joint venture between PSA Europe Pte Ltd, an affiliate of PSA International Pte Ltd of Singapore and IPH (Jersey) Limited. The two parties are active in maritime freight management. The joint venture will develop and operate a container terminal at Great Yarmouth in the UK. The two operations were examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (C.D.)
