Brussels, 31/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 31 October, the Commission approved various individual merger plans. The publishing companies Arnoldo Mondadori Editore S.p.A. (Italy) and Sanoma Magazines B.V. (Finland) will create a new joint company under Russian law, to be known as Mondadori Independent Media LLC, which will publish and distribute magazines in Russia. The American investor, via its subsidiary, Carlyle Europe Partners III L.P., will buy the Spanish vehicle inspection company, Applus Servicios Technológicos, S.L.. Sole control of the Italian oil refinery company, Italiana Energia e Servizi S.p.A., will be taken over by the Hungarian MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Plc.. The investment management company Oaktree Capital Management (United States) will acquire the Italian Conbipel S.p.A., a retailer in the fashion sector. Finally, the Italian investors Euraleo S.r.l and Capitoloquattro S.p.A. will take joint control of their fellow Italian Sirti S.p.A., which provides telecommunication systems networks.
