Brussels, 31/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - All EU member states have now presented their second annual implementation reports on their national reform programmes under the Lisbon Growth and Jobs Strategy. After assessing them, the Commission will present its own Strategic Report on 11 December 2007, with proposals to the Spring European Council on how to adapt and pursue the Lisbon Strategy. At the recent Lisbon Summit, EU heads of state examined the Commission's report "The European Interest: succeeding in the age of globalisation" (see EUROPE 9527). The December Report will assess Member States' progress on complying with the country-specific recommendations for reform endorsed by the June 2007 European Council. It will pinpoint new areas where speedier action is needed. The national reports can be accessed at: http: //ec.europa.eu/growthandjobs/key/nrp2007_en.htm (A.B.)
