30/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - By 646 votes to 11 with 8 abstentions, MEPs adopted in Strasbourg on 23 October, a report by German EPP-ED MEP Angelika Niebler on the signing of a science and technology agreement between the EU and Switzerland. The draft agreement is based on the principles set out in the previous agreement, like Switzerland's involvement in the EU's framework programme for R&D. It was, however, adjusted to better match the new framework programme (FP7). (B.C.)
