30/10/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 25 October, the European Commission adopted a proposal to undertake a codification of Council directive 90/396/EEC of 29 June 1990 on the approximation of the laws of the member states relating to gas appliances. The new directive will supersede the various acts incorporated in it: it fully preserves the content of the acts being codified and hence does no more than bring them together with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself.
