07/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption, on Thursday 6 September in Strasbourg, of the report by Carmen Fraga Estevez (EPP-ED, Spain), the European Parliament considers that a proposal aimed at establishing maximum sustainable yield (MSY) in the field of fisheries “is not ripe”. During the Johannesburg summit in 2002 the EU undertook to ensure that Community fish stocks reach levels allowing MSY by 2015.
