07/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - The Parliament has approved a recommendation from Inger Segelström (PES, Sweden) in support of the Council common position on the decision which establishes the specific programme on preventing drug use and informing the public in the context of the general programme on fundamental rights and justice for the period 2007-2013. MEPs above all stressed the declaration made by the Commission during the plenary session in September 2007, whereby the Commission confirms its commitment to directly forward the annual draft programme to the chairman of the relevant parliamentary committee (LIBE) and inform the European Parliament without delay of any changes to the latter.
