07/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - British MEP Ashley Mote, member of the far right Independence, Tradition and Sovereignty (ITS) group at the European Parliament, has received a 9-month prison sentence in the United Kingdom for several cases of fraud. Mote will continue to be an MEP. He was elected in 2004 as a member of the United Kingdom Independence Party but was expelled from UKIP, headed by Nigel Farage, when the fraud accusations were levelled.
