Brussels, 02/08/2007 (Agence Europe) - British airline British Airways (BA) was fined twice on 1 August, for having formed an agreement with its competitor Virgin Atlantic on fuel surcharges to be paid by passengers. The British Office of Fair Trading (OFT) fined BA £121.5 million sterling, while the US Justice Department imposed a fine of $300 million - a total of close to €400 million. Virgin escaped all punishment because it blew the whistle.
