02/08/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 2 August, the European Commission announced that it is sending a statement of objections to several companies (including Finnish Chemicals), the first stage in the EU competition law infringement proceedings. The companies are suspected of illegal price-fixing on the sodium chlorate market (mainly used as a bleaching agent in the pulp and paper industry). (lc)
