Demands of inhabitants of Augustow demonstrating against Brussels should be addressed to Polish authorities, says Commission

Brussels, 01/08/2007 (Agence Europe) - The initiative of the European Commission to prevent the Polish authorities from resuming work, on 1 August, on the construction of a stretch of motorway in the Rospuda Valley, which contains a wealth of protected natural habitats (EUROPE 9480), has given rise to the anger of many inhabitants of the Polish city of Augustow, who are not pleased that plans to build a bypass for their city have been put on ice.
