Ms Aubert condemns Council's “closed and offhand” attitude on new organic agriculture rules

Strasbourg, 23/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - After a great deal of shilly-shallying among members, in Strasbourg on 22 May, the European Parliament finally adopted, by 611 votes to 61, with 23 abstentions, the report by Marie-Hélène Aubert (Greens/EFA), strengthening the proposal on the new rules on the production and labelling of organic products. The Council of EU agriculture ministers will now be able to come to an agreement on this matter.
