Luxembourg, 06/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - In a ruling in Case C-385-05 of 18 January, the European Court of Justice decided that various aspects of planned legislation in France, drafted in 2005 to combat unemployment, ran counter to EU Directives 98/59/EC and 2002/14/EC on worker representation. Since the law has not been brought onto the statute books, no corrections are required but the trade unions, who took the case to the Court of Justice, are delighted with the verdict.
