Advocate General Jan Mazak says SGL Carbon is guilty of market-fixing

Luxembourg, 06/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - SGL Carbon AG ('SGL', Germany) will have its appeal to the European Court of Justice rejected if the Court follows the conclusions of Advocate General Jan Mazak (Case C-328/05) published on 18 January. SGL was found guilty in 2002 by the European Commission of involvement in a cartel on the speciality graphite market, and appealed to the Court of Justice for a greater reduction in the fines than granted by the European Court of First Instance.
