Monica Frassoni, candidate to Parliament presidency, denounces “unhealthy” system of “grand coalition” between EPP-ED and PES

Brussels, 07/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the Greens/EFA Group officially announced to the press that its co-president, Monica Frassoni, would be running in the election for the post of president of the European Parliament. The vote is scheduled for 16 January (EUROPE 9322). “With this candidature, we wish to raise the problem of the 'grand coalition' in the European Parliament between the EPP-ED and PES groups”, which is itself formed after the model of the grand governmental...
