07/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 7 December, the European Commission granted clearance to the acquisition of sole control of GE Live Group Limited, GE Life Services Limited and GE Insurance Holdings Limited (GE Life, United Kingdom) by Swiss Reinsurance Company (Swiss Re, Switzerland). Swiss Re provides re-insurance services and GE Life provides insurance services. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (eh)
