14/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - Le Monde of 13 November says that the extreme right in the European Parliament (whose MEPs sit mainly among the non-attached members) could, on the initiative of the French Front National (FN), shortly form its own political group. This could happen before “the end of November or in January” according to FN MEP Bruno Gollnisch; “more probably January,” said his colleague Carl Lang. Le Monde says that the formation of such a group (currently at least 19 MEPs from five different Member States are required to form a group) could be helped by the arrival in 2007 of Bulgarian and Romanian MEPs from the xenophobic Ataka and Greater Romania Party.
