On 13 September Commission to present proposal amending European banana producer aid regime

Brussels, 26/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission is expected to adopt (probably on 13 September) a proposal for reforming the European banana producer aid regime. According to certain sources, it is veering towards support for the option of transferring Community aid from the Common Market Organisation (CMO) to the POSEI programmes which fund measures supporting extremely remote regions' production.
