26/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - As a direct consequence of the failure in negotiations on renewing the EU-Senegal fisheries agreement, which expired on 30 June (EUROPE 9224): Senegal signed a number of conventions with Spanish and French ship owners in an attempt to save the local tuna industry which is very dependent on the fisheries agreement with the EU.
