26/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 25 July, under the regulation on mergers, the European Commission authorised the proposed acquisition of the French company, Amec Spie SA, by PAI partners S.A.S (also French). PAI is a private equity fund. Amec Spie S.A. provides multi-technical regional services and multi-technical services to the nuclear, oil and gas sectors, the rail sector and that for communications and information technologies. Results of the inquiry carried out by the Commission show that the operation foreseen will not significantly hamper competition in the common market. The matter was dealt with according to simplified merger review procedure.
