Brussels, 26/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 20 July, the European Commission opened an in-depth inquiry to verify whether the Italian government's extension of the preferential regime for electricity prices for a number of high-energy consuming industries was compatible with the EC Treaty rules on State aid.
