23/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - The conference of the Leaders of the political groups in the European Parliament confirmed the nomination of three MEPs to the Pharmaceutical Forum organised by the European Commission: French UMP MEP Françoise Grossetête (EPP-ED, proposed by the environment committee), German Social Democrat Dagmar Roth-Behrendt (PES, environment) and German Liberal Jorgo Chatzimarkakis (ALDE, industry). The appointment procedure was challenged by the leader of the Greens/EFA Daniel Cohn-Bendit who felt it could not be justified insofar as the MEPs designated were taking part in this high level group “in a personal capacity as experts”.
