Brussels, 23/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, the four member countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) signed a common cooperation declaration on 17 May with Colombia on trade and investment. The main goal is to improve economic relations between the two blocks and set up a common framework for expansion, diversification, liberalization of trade and investment. A joint committee has been set up to analyse the trade policy tools already available. Trade between EFTA and Colombia is already increasing. EFTA countries export oil, machine tools, pharmaceuticals, chemical and cosmetics. From Colombia EFTA countries import agricultural goods, mineral oils, precious metals and precious stones, as well as medical and optical equipment.
