Brussels, 01/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - Does the Lisbon process produce sustainable economic development from a social and environmental perspective? Do the revised Lisbon Agenda and the national reform programmes create a new impetus in support of the environment and social Europe? Are civil society organisations and the social partners fully involved in this process? These are the questions to be answered by those taking part in the conference organised by the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and the Platform of European Social NGOs on the topic “Does the Lisbon process produce sustainable development?” President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso and Austrian Economy and Labour Minister Martin Bartenstein will take part in this event.
