Brussels, 01/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - The new US Ambassador to the EU, C. Boyden Gray, presented his credentials on 27 February to the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the EU, represented on this occasion by the Secretary of State for European Affaires Hans Winkler. He made the same presentation to the president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, on 21 February. Mr Gray, who takes over from Rockwell Schnabel, has recently worked in the private sector, after having served as an advisor to the White House under the presidency of George Bush Senior (1989-1993) and the Supreme Court (at the end of the 1960s).
