01/03/2006 (Agence Europe) - In a press release sent out in March, British Conservative Robert Sturdy called for a British embargo on poultry from all countries where the H5N1 virus bird flu virus has been confirmed. The MEP points to the previous French embargo on British beef at the time of the mad cow crisis and believes that it is absolutely necessary to protect the United Kingdom poultry industry.
