Transatlantic cooperation on development of international standard to curb greenhouse emission from air conditioning in cars

Brussels, 21/02/2006 (Agence Europe) - Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) testing and engineering standards are to be harmonised worldwide to encourage more environmentally friendly air conditioning systems that will help in the fight against climate change. This was the decision reached by the European Commission, the U.S. EPA Mobile Air Conditioning Climate Protection Partnership and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) at the 2006 Mobile Air Conditioning Summit in Saalfelden, Austria.
