Veronique De Keyser to head EU election monitoring mission

Brussels, 30/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - Belgian Socialist MEP Veronique De Keyser has been appointed head of the EU election monitoring mission for the Palestinian elections on 25 January 2006. The mission will last a long time - the first 12 of the EU's election monitors (of a total of 172) will arrive in Palestine in a fortnight's time. French Socialist, Michel Rocard, headed the EU election monitoring mission for the Palestinian presidential elections in January this year.
