30/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - The new Supervisory Committee for the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) took office on 30 November. The board's task is to reinforce OLAF's independence by regular monitoring of the implementation of the investigative function. The five members are Kálmán Györgyi, Commissioner for the Codification of the new Hungarian Criminal Code at the Ministry of Justice; Luis López-Sanz Aranguez, Public Prosecutor at the Supreme Court of Spain; Swedish national Peter Strömberg, Director and Head of the Supervisory Board of Public Accountants; German national Diemut R. Theato, 1994-2004 Chairwoman of the EP's Budgetary Control Committee; and UK national Rosalind Wright, Chairwoman of the Fraud Advisory Panel of England and Wales.
