Commission proposes granting Ukraine market economy status

Brussels, 30/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - Ahead of the 1 December EU-Ukraine Summit in Kiev, the European Commission has announced that Ukraine now meets all technical criteria for being a market economy. The Summit is expected to grant Ukraine official market economy status, which will give the country more favourable treatment under the EU's anti-dumping procedures.
