Chess champion Garry Kasparov, backed by Green Party, lodges complaint against electoral fraud in Russia

Strasbourg, 28/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - Garry Kasparov, former Russian world champion chess player, lodged an court case on 27 October at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg against alleged fraud in the Duma election campaign in the Russian Federation in November 2003. Garry Kasparov has been elected President of the 2008 Free Elections Committee, established in January 2004 to react against glaring violations of citizens' constitutional right to fair elections.
