Swedish ERICSSON (turnover EUR 13.898 billion in 2004 with 50,258 employed) is to buy up the assets of its British counterpart, MARCONI (turnover EUR 1.973 billion for the financial year ending March 2004 with 10,140 employed) for the sum of EUR 1.8 billion.
