European aid offers continue to flood in for victims of Hurricane Katrina, but United States has not yet granted clearance

Brussels, 06/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - By Tuesday, virtually all countries participating in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism had responded to the aid requests issued on Sunday by the American government following the havoc wreaked by Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana (New Orleans in particular, see Europe 9020). But the United States has not yet officially cleared the aid.
