In France, Marseilles-based shipbuilder CMA CGM (EUR 4 bn turnover forecast for 2005, workforce of 8927), the world's fourth largest tanker maker, has signed a deal with BOLLORE to buy its shipping subsidiary DELMAS (EUR turnover of 880 mil forecast for 2005, 1100 employees) for EUR 6480 million in total, EUR 320 mil of it in cash and the rest in debt acquisition. The deal would enable CMA CGM to greatly boost its presence in Africa and become the world's third largest shipbuilder.
