Commission and Libyan authorities sign agreement on aid for Benghazi centre to fight HIV/AIDS

Brussels, 06/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - On 5 September, the European Commission signed a memorandum of agreement with the Libyan authorities, opening the road to immediate implementation of the action plan to combat HIV/AIDS in Libya. The plan will provide urgent policy advice and technical support to the Libyan health authorities and upgrade the capacity of the Benghazi Centre for Infectious Diseases and Immunology to bring it into line with international standards.
