06/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - Adopting in Strasbourg on Tuesday the report by Joseph Daul (EPP-ED, France), the European Parliament approved the May 2005 amendment to technical aspects of the 1991 regulation on organic farming and organic products, extending by one year the current transit measures (until 31 December 2006) on the marking of organic produce from outside the EU, before a new permanent import system is introduced involving technical assessments of organic produce.
