Commission go-ahead for €5 million aid for Czech coalmine

Brussels, 22/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided this week that regional investment aid for Lignit Hodonín, the operator of the last lignite coalmine in the Czech Republic, is compatible with EU state aid rules. The CZK 155.5 million (€5 million) aid covers investment for opening new lignite deposits which will safeguard 350 direct and 150 indirect jobs.
