22/07/2005 (Agence Europe) - After a long verification procedure that began in 2001, the European Commission finally approved the management and control systems set in place in Greece for helping regional aid from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This decision comes in the wake of an agreement reached on 7 June between Greece and the Commission on financial corrections corresponding to EUR 518 million relating to spending irregularities (see EUROPE 8964).
